 2010 IFCA Membership Information

Why invest in an IFCA membership . . .

  • The IFCA serves all of Idaho’s fire/EMS services and its leaders
  • Regular membership is open to Fire Chiefs, Deputy Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, Battalion Chiefs, EMS Managers, Training Officers and Fire Marshals
  • Division memberships (Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention and Training ) are available to virtually anyone
  • Leaders from volunteer, career and combination departments are "in the know" by belonging to the IFCA
  • IFCA has representatives on numerous state commissions and boards to provide input and guidance on various statewide fire/EMS matters
  • The IFCA provides numerous information and networking opportunities - formally and informally - this is critical in these tough economic times!
  • The IFCA monitors and is involved in state and federal legislation looking out for your interests and that of our industry
  • The IFCA works closely with the Western Fire Chiefs Association and the International Association of Fire Chiefs

To continue our work, we need your support, through your membership and participation. Below is a link to download a 2010 IFCA Membership Application and/or Membership Renewal Form to renew (or to start) your own and/or your department’s staff memberships. Please make additional copies of these forms as needed, however, we ask that you only submit a single application form for each person joining. Multiple persons joining from one department may pay their dues with a single check, if desired. We thank our continuing members for renewing their memberships and any of you newcomers joining the IFCA.

Thank You!
Dean Ellis, President

NOTE: Annual dues are payable on January 1st of the calendar year.  Dues paid during the calendar year are not prorated through Sept. 30.  However, dues received on or after October 1st will be credited for the following calendar year plus the remainder of the current calendar year (Oct. - Dec.).

Update on the 2010 Membership Dues
In 2008 the IFCA membership, by a 51-1 vote, passed a 20% dues increase at the Annual Business Meeting to help offset inflationary costs.  The last dues increase prior to that was in 2005, and the last one before that was in 1994.

However, due to the ongoing recession and its trickle down impact on our membership, the Board voted at its 2008 Fall Board meeting to "half" the approved 20% dues increase, to only 10% for 2009.  This provided members with a one year savings on dues of 10%.

Then, at the 2009 Fall Board meeting on November 19, 2009 in Post Falls, the Board voted unanimously to add on the remaining 10% that had been suspended for 2009 which would then be effective January 2010.  This means a 10% dues increase was put in place for 2010.

We sincerely thank all of our loyal members and sponsors for their support and continued  membership in the IFCA!
